Every day, 1200 semis arrive in Nogales, Arizona.
They're stocked with produce from Mexico that's being auctioned for distribution in the US.
Anything that doesn't sell that day - USDA inspected tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, melons, cantaloupes, beans, zucchini, eggplants, corn and watermelons - is dumped into a landfill to rot.
That is, until today's group gets involved.
They've negotiated to get to the food before it ends up in the garbage.
$1 can save 25lbs of this produce to be redirected to soup kitchens and food banks.
$10 saves 250lbs!
